Limiting the load on the musculoskeletal system during the movement of loads with the use of selected assistive devices
dr Tomasz Tokarski

By using appropriate lifting and carrying devices, the load on the musculoskeletal system can be significantly reduced. This is important because every year there are more and more employees over 55 who have less muscle strength compared to younger people, and employers have to adapt the working conditions of older people to their psychophysical capabilities. The article presents selected devices supporting lifting and carrying loads and the principles of their selection, taking into account the individual needs and capabilities of employees.

Sound visualization – advantages and applications in fighting the hazard of noise
dr inż. Leszek Morzyński, inż. Adam Swidziński, Radek Štramberský, Paula Pavaluca

Identification of noise sources is one of the important elements of the process of reducing noise hazards in the work environment. It enables the indication of the dominant noise source and facilitates the selection of solutions and technical measures aimed at reducing it. Identifying noise sources using traditional measurement techniques and measuring instruments with a single microphone or intensity probe is time consuming and in many cases very difficult. Graphical mapping of acoustic field parameters greatly facilitates the process of locating sources of acoustic energy and its propagation paths. Sound visualization, is a graphic form of presentation of acoustic phenomena, in which the parameters of the emitted noise are presented in the form of a color map superimposed on the image of its source. The article discusses one of the basic techniques of acoustic imaging, which is beamforming, and acoustic imaging devices using this technique, i.e. acoustic cameras. The advantages and possibilities of using this technique, as well as its limitations, are discussed on the basis of measurement results carried out in laboratory and in real conditions.

Opportunities and threats for occupational health and safety related to the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies in enterprises
dr inż. Zofia Pawłowska

As Industry 4.0 technologies are implemented, the work environment is changing and new opportunities and threats to occupational health and safety are arising. These are related both to the technologies themselves and to changes in the organization of work and the way it is carried out. The article presents the results of a survey conducted among people dealing with occupational safety and health issues in order to obtain information on the factors identified by them that affect the safety and health of employees in companies implementing technologies and production concepts within Industry 4.0.
